Charity and Humanity

The Chairperson and the staff of the Association “LET’S GROW OLD GRACEFULLY” - Bucovina are constantly concerned in identifying all cases of abandonment in the area and in other areas in Romania. Every time a child or an elderly person is found abandoned and in need, they are taken over, given shelter, taken care of and treated free of charge and charitalbly by our association. The care for our fellows who are in such circumstances drives us and forces us to insulfate other persons who have the means, to do the same or to donate in this respect. We make a lot of people understand that they must not be indifferent when they see or hear about fellows whose fate is not that kind. The Chairperson and the staff in the association, they all show charity and reliability in everything they do to the benefit of the persons in need. It is extraordinary for a human being to do something good to the benefit of others who really need help. You too should give something and you shall not regret it!

May the Lord set your heart to the love of God and to the patience of Jesus Christ!”

Every culture has its own beliefs regarding giving. Jesus Christ has told His apprentices to always help the poor and those in need. When wealth is acheived legally, it must be shared not only with the family. The MINB responsibility means, primarily, to identify the persons who are really in need. That is why the involvement of true christians who are afraid of God is needed, in order to identify such potential beneficiaries and to make sure that the help is directed to those who are indeed in need.

Once this thing has occurred, the next essential step is to identify the way in which people can be helped out, in the sense that the change such help might bring in their lives to be a constant and sustained one. It’s not enough to make a gesture of charity out of mere emotion, impulse, a gesture that might help out a person on temporary basis, without making a difference on long term. The beneficiary must not turn dependant on the person helping them, always expecting occasional help. The communities that support the founding of educational institutes must teach them how to develop based on initial donations so that, after a while, they should be able of self-support.

Another milestone of the work for helping is remaining annonymous. This idea is difficult to accept in our days, because we are all human beings and we all wish to be recognised, one way or another, as charitable persons. However, a minimum of modesty and staying in the sahde is the true sign of compassion.

Last but not least, the best measure and recognition of someone’s activity is that when the whole area, the entire organisation or the segment of society starts smiles, raise their eyes and have hope again.

“Do not walk in front of me: I might not follow you. Do not walk behind me: I might not lead well; just walk besides me and be my friend!”
